Tech Styles exhibition ready and waiting for Visitors

The exhibition is open as from Saturday 14th March 2015, everything looks different in a new location. There are new exhibits and extension work for sale in the shop. 
We are now having a breather before starting on our pieces for The Whitaker, Rawtenstall in the autumn.

Norma Hopkins preparing for Nantwich exhibition

Norma is preparing her sketchbook for the up and coming exhibition at Nantwich Museum in March. Our Tech Styles exhibition is going on tour and this venue will be its second outing.

March 13th until June 14th 2015.

 

 

 

 This  image shows a set of work taken from some elements in my sketch book work. The images have been digitally worked on in Photoshop and printed out on a variety of papers then further worked into with Unison soft pastels. The bottom piece is from a Southport walk. Small folded papers were crushed and folded into a small book form. One minute drawing were the base then over worked with Unison Soft Pastels.  

 

 

 This piece started as an experimental mark making exercise using black ink and a variety of mark making tools. The piece was then worked into with Unison soft pastels and watercolour pencils

 

This piece was based on the idea of inlets and waterways … A sort of aerial view of the landscape. In the process,  Lutradur was applied for texture and worked into with Unison soft pastels and watercolour pencils.

EXTENSION WORK FOR NANTWICH. - 'Tech Styles'

We are all preparing for the up and coming exhibition at Nantwich in two months.

These are some sneak images of Margaret Steeden's extension pieces. They use the same disperse dyes that she employed for the substrate for her  'Humble Circle'.

 The seed head inspiration came from the garden at Quarry Bank Mill where the exhibition " Tech Styles" was first on display in 2013.

 There will be a range of Sketchbooks and smaller 3D pieces for sale in the shop during the exhibition  
14th March until 13th June 2015.

NANTWICH MUSEUM EXHIBITION VENUE for TECHSTYLES 2015

Two closeup images of The Humble Circle exhibit that will be at Nantwich Museum from the 14th March until the 13th June 2015.
This follows on from the very well received exhibition TechStyles that originally featured at Quarry Bank, Styal Mill in 2013.
