Quarry Bank Mill Gardens- more inspiration

The Greg family created a wonderful hillside garden in the grounds of Quarry Bank Mill which are very inspirational for the gardener and artist alike. Robert Hyde Greg was  a prolific  plant collector and introduced many varieties of rhododendrons to the gardens at Styal.
A striking feature of the gardens at Quarry Bank Mill is the sandstone cliff which contains fossils from the time the sandstone was laid down. Having this geological feature on their doorstep (so tho speak) resulted in some of the members of the Greg family becoming interested in collecting fossils .

These photographs show some of the flowers from the garden.
