Armelle first explored aspects of textile art during her studies in Toulouse, in her native France, and as an Erasmus student in Manchester. She has continued to develop these ideas alongside a career in graphic design and developing a smallholding where she now lives in the Peak District.
The inspiration for her textile sculptures is taken from the colours, shapes and textures of both natural and manmade objects, using a range of fibres, filaments, fabrics and beads.
Plants and flowers (that could be found in the Palm House) have provided the basis for her work in this exhibition.
